The mission of the Department of Contract Compliance is to certify Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises (MBE/WBEs), to ensure that all County purchases comply with the Cook County Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise Ordinance, to educate County using departments and vendors on the importance and the process of complying with the Ordinance, to develop MBEs and WBEs capable of performing as primes, and to work together as a team to monitor the success of the process.

 

 

Attention Cook County Certified Vendors:

Effective February 1, 2008, MBE or WBE Certification by Cook County's Office of Contract Compliance will be active for three (3) years from the date of Certification, renewable annually via a No-Change Affidavit. The No-Change Affidavit must be filed sixty (60) days prior to the expiration date of your Certification in order to maintain your Certification eligibility.
A copy of the No-Change Affidavit is available in the MBE/WBE Certification of this site

Effective June 1, 2008,  only a Letter of Certification from one of the following entities shall be accepted as certification of MBE/WBE status:

  • County of Cook
  • Small Business Administration 8A Program
  • Illinois Unified Certification Program

or any other governmental body or agency approved by the Contract Compliance Administrator as applying certification standards substantially similar to those applied by the County of Cook may also be accepted.
